My Visit to ISB...

Around 2.30pm we started our way heading to ISB On reaching the campus, Reached ISB @3pm I knew this is the place I would love to be in. After the proceedings at the main entrance,Peacock Stand (Sign Board)welcomed us,Bhaskar got info to arrive at RoadNo2 ie the Student Village block. Student Villages are the hostels where we can find mixture of Family hostels(known as Studios)and Bachelor hostels, In total there are 4 Villages.
By the way the referral through whom we entered ISB is Sravanth(he was recently rewarded as Young Leader of ISB).Brief intro of him is he graduated from KLCE University from AP and completed Masters(MS) and with a WorkEx of 4.5Yrs(approx) he joined ISB (GMAT score of 730).He is never an Ideal person, Spends his time on Photography and making Shortflims (few of them are quite famous in YouTube) PFB link for the same.
Once in leisure time while surfing his mobile apps found them interesting and started working on them one such app related to Valentine bubbles which in very short time No of downloads became quite huge due to which many companies asked him for Freelancing.Later one of the Indian company asked him to join their company as a co-founder,due to which he returned back to INDIA.The startUp was on profitable position but Sravanth thought he need his managerial skills to be improved for which he started to think of MBA in-turn ISB.
Key points to crack GMAT & ISB:
The span he prepared for GMAT is max of 50-55days (2 months approx) without any coaching. Sravanth advised try not to accumulate time near CR's and also take regular intervals of break either required or not while taking the full length mocks and even in Actual exam. While taking AWA the answer will be first verified by the Machine(algorithm) and then 2nd level of verification ie manual correction. If there is any great difference in populated scores then the 3rd level of correction takes place, which is very rare.So think the answer from algorithms mindset ie having the Key words on priority basis. He also preferred to enroll in #beattheGMAT portal where you will 2 full length tests.First one in between the prep and the second one just a day before Main Xam. Finally take a 10-day gap before taking the main exam just to make to mind prepared for the exam. After getting GMAT score Concentrate only on Essays which constitutes of more weight-age for shortlisting for PI(personal interview), the later round elimination is comparatively less.
Things to Remember at Interview(PI)@ ISB
Make sure all your Transcripts are ready.Support answers thoroughly like Why MBA? and How can ISB helpful to you after graduation?Maintaining Blogs Working in NGOs will very well help you.Do your ground work like what is it that you would like to know, what memories would you like to carry after your join and so on. So do your preparation properly before going. Not all the proofs are mandatory but few things which you gonna stress on should be provided for example Sravanth interview Questions were
1.Why MBA?-> for which he answered as his start up is running quite well but that came with his instinct and managerial things need some refinement for whichISB suits in all means to achieve it.
2.How famous are your shortflims? -> Sravanth accompanied his laptop to interview where he opened you tube and they started typing S..R..A..V.. by the time the auto populating his name.
3.He is GOLDMEDALLIST in under graduation  for which he brought it along with him to interview.
Additional info of ISB:
The total fee Structure of ISB along with accommodation sums upto @25L which should be paid in 3 intervals (1L- immediately after joining as token of booking the seat+12L by 3-4 months + 12L  by 7-8 months= 25L).As a whole there will be 8 terms with 32 courses, out of which 1 major (mandatory) and 2nd major Optional to be completed. Each student is awarded points after each completion of course and there will be an International Exchange Prog where all schools (LBS,Darton University,Insead etc participate) where the bidding takes place with the points achieved by the student, the span of this program is 2-3 months based on the course.
Exploring ISB
Around 5.45pm the environment around us was filled with Question flooding from everyone mind luckily Sravanth was patiently answering all of them.By 6pm we winded up but I had decided to stay back ,So sravanth introduced me to one of his friend Sumanth to accompany me all through the campus,Saying so Bhaskar and all others left. Sumanth took me first to admin-block where all the class take place which was made me feel like the temple of Business Knowledge swimming across and later I had heard a lot about LRC. LRC is the Learning Resource Center, the heart of ISB, consisting of library, computer center and reading rooms. It was really great. In fact, it did beat my expectations. I spent some time reading books I also found list of Successful Entrepreneurs on the board as seen below.Inline image 2,Later walking thru campus Sumanth told his details, he is also Fab in his level of qualification. He completed graduation from IIT-B in Civil Eng.Later he out of his interest joined real Estate and got to know all buzzers that go round but he
soon thought there are some gaps in reaching what he exactly in the flow, for which MBA in Finance would cover it up.He prepared for just 20days and took the GMAT exam and was honored with 720.Later wrote his essays taking ample time.He did a lot of R&D regarding ISB make it either from Website or from the alumni. He came to know why finance what will dealt in the field... what sort of Prof come to teach them...which companies and with how much pay they intake fromISB every tiny info he spoke in the interview. By that time we walked past 2 more Student Villages and finally we entered recreation center where all sorts of sports..aerobics..squash...swimming-pool and lot many we came across.Interesting things which I felt was after joining ISB we will be given an option of joining 4 teams with below colored Jerseys .Irrespective of the game there play, win and gain laurels to their team.
Inline image 1Felt something like HarryPotter movie...
By 7.15pm Sumanth got some work and we departed wishing each other.I couldn't make up my mind to leave the campus immediately Every one is enjoying as it was the final working day and Convocation in weeks time.I talked to almost dozens of students, almost all club officers and a lot of mutual students. Couple of them really shared their honest views and I am really grateful to them . Let me tell you, there are few honest students and alumni anywhere and these, according to me, are the real ambassadors of the school. It is difficult to find this characteristic and I am sure that most of the universities and colleges would agree with me that of all its students in batch, this number may be very marginal. Few from operations background.. others from Strategy Mangmnt all advised me on a single point.
Decide what do you want to become and how ISB will help you achieving it.

Hope this might help you in someway or the Other during your prep of MBA(GMAT)
